Mark Your Calendars!

We've recently learned that fellow diva in business, Darlene from Bijouxbead, will be making a television appearance on the Slice Network (in Canada) on November 3 at 2pm ET. The show is called "The Mom Show" and Darlene will be chatting with the host about being an entrepreneur and a mother. This means that Canadian viewers will be able to see some of her work on TV.

Darlene will also be attending an exhibition and reception at the Made You Look Jewellery Studio and Gallery on Queen West in Toronto. The exhibition will be open with a reception from 5-9pm on November 13, 2008. Her work will remain in the gallery through to November 27,2008.

The Exhibition Theme: “The Bijouxbead Holiday Exhibit features pieces from the necklace, bracelet and earring collections, organized into thirteen collections within a collection; each one named for a province or territory within Canada. The Quebec collection, for example, features for the most part a little known semi-precious stone called Feldspath which was mined in Quebec (see picture “great horned owl”). The Newfoundland and Labrador collection features outstanding examples of Labradorite and the piece “from the rock” (see picture) was designed to symbolize the rugged beauty of Newfoundland and Labrador’s landscape. The New Brunswick collection features Tigereye, which reminds Darlene of the wood she came across there while camping on Grand Manan Island (see picture “wooden it be loverly”). While some of the collections feature a specific stone, there are others that are based in glass and metal. While some pieces within the collection are very organic in nature, others are definitely “set to sparkle”.
